A locally operated dumpster company, run plainly
Blue Bull Dumpster Rental Buffalo got started because our founder kept running into the same thing: late deliveries, hidden fees and confusing pricing every time a friend or a client tried to rent a dumpster in Buffalo. Nobody could just say a size, a price and a date and mean it. So Mike Bennett set out to build the outfit he wished existed — one that picks up the phone, quotes a real flat rate, and shows up when it says it will.
That is still the whole mission: to make waste removal easier, cleaner and more responsible for everyone in Buffalo and Western New York. What started as a small local operation grew through word of mouth and repeat customers — a roofer telling another roofer, a homeowner telling a neighbor — built on reliability, plain communication and respect for the community we live and work in. We are not a national chain, and we are not trying to be.
What we look like today
We run a small fleet of trucks out of the yard on 75 Ransier Dr, keep 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard containers on the ground, and cover Buffalo and the towns spreading out across Erie County — from Cheektowaga and West Seneca to Lackawanna and Amherst.
Every driver who works here knows this area's housing stock — the dense, century-old two-family "doubles" and bungalows packed tight on Buffalo's West Side and in the Old First Ward, the postwar and newer subdivisions filling in around Amherst, Clarence and Orchard Park, and the older farmhouses on bigger lots further out toward Springville and East Aurora. They know a container set a few inches too far forward can mean you cannot get the truck out of a narrow city driveway, and they know exactly what a foot of lake-effect snow off Lake Erie does to a driveway overnight in December.

Why we care about where it ends up
Hauling waste for a living gives you a fairly direct relationship with the consequences. We live here. So we take New York's waste rules seriously rather than treating them as paperwork, we sort out clean wood, metal, cardboard and clean concrete where the volume justifies it, and we would rather spend five minutes on the phone telling you where an old appliance should go than quietly bury it.

Winter, handled
Living on the shore of Lake Erie means living with real lake-effect snow, sometimes measured in feet rather than inches. When a band sets up over Erie County and half the region is digging out, that is exactly when we work hardest to keep containers moving — storm cleanup and post-storm calls get pushed toward the front of the schedule, and we would rather be busy after a storm than have a neighbor stuck with a driveway full of debris and no way to clear it.

How long have you been in business?
We do not lead with a founding year because what matters more is how we operate today: locally owned, based in Buffalo, with a small crew that answers the phone and shows up when it says it will. What started as a small local operation has grown through word of mouth and repeat customers — ask us about our track record with a specific job type and we will give you a straight answer.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed to haul in New York and carrying general liability and auto coverage appropriate to commercial hauling. We are happy to send a certificate of insurance to general contractors, property managers and municipalities before a job starts — just ask when you book. It is a routine request for us, and we can usually turn it around the same day so it does not hold up your project schedule.
Do you work with contractors on ongoing jobs?
Constantly. Roofers, remodelers, restoration companies and property managers make up a large share of our week. We run standing swap-out schedules, priority call windows during peak season, consolidated monthly invoicing and negotiated rates on volume. Call and ask for the commercial side, and we will set up an account that fits how your crews actually schedule work.
What happens to the material after pickup?
It is weighed, then sorted where the load makes sorting worthwhile — clean wood, scrap metal, cardboard and clean concrete get diverted rather than landfilled. Everything else goes to a permitted disposal facility. Materials restricted from ordinary New York landfill disposal are separated out and routed to the right facility.
