Kenmore is a small, densely built village completely surrounded by the Town of Tonawanda, and it's routinely recognized as one of the more walkable, well-preserved inner-ring suburbs in the Buffalo area, with a compact grid of 1920s and 30s homes along Delaware Road and Kenmore Avenue. The Albemarle-Kenmore Terraces Historic District protects a genuinely notable stretch of early-20th-century residential architecture, and the village's own municipal building sits at the same Delaware Avenue address that also houses Town of Tonawanda offices, a reflection of how tightly the two governments' histories are intertwined. Because Kenmore borders the City of Buffalo directly, it has a distinctly urban, tree-lined feel compared to towns further out in the county.

Delaware Road and Kenmore Avenue are the village's main commercial streets, with dense blocks of 1920s and 30s homes filling the residential grid around them, many within the protected Albemarle-Kenmore Terraces Historic District. Lots here are compact and driveways are often short or shared, so placement takes some planning on narrower streets. Renovation work regularly runs into original plaster, hardwood and early-20th-century wiring typical of a village built out almost entirely before World War II.

On private property — a driveway, a yard, a job site — you will not normally need a permit anywhere in Erie County, and that covers the large majority of our Kenmore deliveries. What matters far more is whether the surface can take the weight and whether the truck can physically get in.

If the container has to sit on a public street or right-of-way in Kenmore, that usually changes.
